We decided it might be nice to get something out there, somewhere for acsj to discuss, open up, question, schedule, and relate to one another. Unfortunately it is a little impersonal, but in between meetings it is good to keep in contact, stay informed, and have a bit of conversation (when you don't want to study)
Post away - links, interesting info, jokes, videos, news articles, comments, ideas... this is a stew, throw your vegetables in!
Peace,
ACSJ
ps - check out the video and news articles to the right.
ACSJ is an all-encompassing social justice and social action organization which brings together faculty, students, and staff in order to work for justice on Augustana's campus, in the Sioux Falls community, in the state of South Dakota, and worldwide.

ACSJ will be ushering at Dr. Jane Goodall, Oct. 4th. There will be dinner provided, and not to mention the opportunity to experience an amazing activist, scientist, researcher, and advocate of social justice!
I don't know about you but I'm excited...
Let us know if you are interested!
This thing is pretty cool! (only works for XP and Vista)

How it Works:
CO2 Saver is a lightweight program that manages your computer's power usage when it's idle, saving energy and decreasing the demand on your power utility.
The less electricity produced, the fewer harmful emissions and greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2) are released into the atmosphere.

It deeply saddens me that this can happen in America in the year 2007.. you would think we would stop re-living the past.
I recently caught the tail end of an article about Jena 6. I find it incredibly empowering that so many are becoming involved -- actually standing up and speaking out against what has happened. As much as I would like to say that it surprises me, it doesn't. However, I am excited to see the movement and response coming from such a negative situation. I truly think this is the beginning of something big on the front of civil rights and social justice altogether. Yes.
